Psychotherapy
In my therapeutic work, I use an integrative relational style that incorporates psychodynamic techniques and mindfulness-based interventions in honoring a client’s experience and in doing so, recognizes their strengths as well as their potential for growth. I see the therapy as a collaborative relationship in which I invite clients to actively engage in the process of change.
I integrate Eastern and Western psychological perspectives in formulating meaningful treatment plans that help clients remove psychological barriers and connect to all that they are. I use a holistic approach empowering clients to experience an integrated sense of wellness and equanimity to better address any challenges in their lives. I have experience working with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, OCD, LGBT issues, professional and personal identity, transition, relationship issues, and grief. I am also certifed in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) by the EMDR Institute for the treatment of trauma and for performance enhancement.
I have experience working with a culturally and ethnically diverse clientele. I have extensive experience working with professionals, artists, college students, and veterans.

I integrate Eastern and Western psychological perspectives in formulating meaningful treatment plans to help you remove psychological barriers and connect to all that you are. I use a holistic approach empowering you to experience an integrated sense of wellness and equanimity to better address any challenges in your life. In general, this culture and the profession place and emphasis on the intellectual and the cognitive that can keep us from feeling fully embodied individuals. My work places and emphasis on the mind-body connection.
I develop unique integrative treatment plans specific to each individual I work with based on their needs. I use a resource-based approach that incorporates interventions, strategies and techniques that resonate with the patient I am working with in helping them feel most embodied in their life. In addition to my training in models of more traditional Western psychotherapy, I may also use somatic interventions including EMDR (see below) or aspects of my training in yoga and meditation.
Research has more recently discovered the psychological and physiological benefits of body-based treatment approaches in enhancing treatment outcomes. I also always take into consideration multicultural factors in my planning and treatment of my patients with a social justice framework.
